On Saturday, May 16, the NTM historic steam train will depart for Brandýs nad Labem for the traditional Audience with Emperor Charles I.
The event marks the 500th anniversary of the Habsburgs' ascension to the Czech throne. It will take place at Brandýs nad Labem Castle and its gardens, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Stará Boleslav, and the Brandýs nad Labem train station. Train tickets are now available for purchase on the NTM website. Advance purchase tickets are discounted.
Train tickets are one-way. They will be sold at the platforms if capacity is not met.
The timetable will be finalized as follows:
Expected departure: Prague Masarykovo nádraží around 8:00.
Expected arrival: Brandýs nad Labem around 10:15.
Expected departure: Brandýs nad Labem around 16:27.
Expected arrival: Prague Masarykovo nádraží around 18:40.
Please note that boarding the train requires a pre-purchased ticket.
NTM trains do not accept fares from any rail operators. Bicycles, strollers, wheelchairs, oversized luggage, and animals are not permitted. Thank you for your understanding.
The train will be led by steam locomotive 464.102 "Ušatá" from 1940, a unique testament to interwar Czechoslovak steam locomotive engineering. The locomotive served on lines until 1978, after which it was transferred to the NTM collection. Following extensive restoration completed in 2023, the machine has been restored to flawless technical condition ensuring long-term operability. It has been given a representative appearance matching the 1950s era. Visitors will travel in carriages from the final decades before the end of steam operations.
