The traditional Czech Grand Design exhibition is open in the National Technical Museum. We present design work nominated in 2013 in the following categories: Designer of the Year, Fashion Designer of the Year, Jewelry Designer of the Year, Graphic Designer of the Year and Photographer of the Year. During the exhibition's opening ceremony, the Czech Academy of Design announced the finalists, from which the winners will be selected and awarded their prizes during the gala ceremony in The Estates Theatre on March 9th. As is customary, visitors may vote for their favorites, in the Public Acclaim category. Ballots may be handed in at the museum exhibition.
Public Acclaim Award
As is customary, visitors may vote for their favorites again this year, using Public Acclaim ballots. Votes in this category are cast in the author categories, that is, those presenting their works in exhibitions of the National Technical Museum and the Window Gallery of the Česká Spořitelna Bank. There are two rounds of voting. In the first, visitors fill out a ballot in the National Technical Museum and vote for their three best choices. The five nominees receiving the most votes will advance to the second round. This round will also take place in the National Technical Museum, and simultaneously online in the project's website www.czechgranddesign.cz, and websites of media partners.
The first round runs from January 23rd to February 23 rd, 2014. The second from February 25th through March 18 th. The winner of the Public Acclaim category will be announced at the press conference in the exhibition on March 20 th at 11am.
