Saturday and Sunday, 8th and 9th of September, 2012 the National Technical Museum's railroad depository in Chomutov will be open to the public. The NTM is preparing the depository in cooperation with Czech Railways a.s. and the town of Chomutov. Visitors will see railroad exhibit items that are not normally available for public viewing. Traditional attractions are steam locomotives, but visitors will see many other items from the more than 80 historical rail vehicles stored in the depository.
Saturday, September 8th, 2012 Czech Railways will launch a special steam train from its museum in Lužná near Rakovník to Chomutov. The steam train will carry passengers directly into the spaces of the National Technical Museum's railroad depository. More information about this activity is available on the web: www.cdmuzeum.cz.
The railroad depository of the National Technical Museum is on the grounds of the Czech Railways locomotive depot in Chomutov. A marked route to the grounds will be displayed in Černovická street from the Globus shopping mall (in the direction of Karlovy Vary). The depository will be open:
