From June 11 2026 – Technology at the Post Office, or After 108 Years Finally Together (in Prague)
Permanent exhibition

From June 11 2026 – Technology at the Post Office, or After 108 Years Finally Together (in Prague)

The Technology exhibition was prepared as a celebration of the joining of the two institutions, primarily from the most interesting objects transferred from the Postal Museum’s collections to the National Technical Museum in 1955.

The exhibition, located on the ground floor of the Vávra House, is divided into several thematic sections – Radio, Stamp Production in the Czech Lands, Telephone and Telegraph, Transport, and Postal Architecture.

An integral part of the exhibition is the presentation of stamp design, which comprehensively introduces the history of the postage stamp from the mid‑19th century to the present day. In six safe cabinets there are three hundred pull‑out panels; in the first section are displayed the complete collections of Czechoslovak and Czech stamps. On view are the very beginnings of our stamp production – the famous Hradčany stamps from 1918 designed by Alphonse Mucha – as well as the most recent Czech issues.
